The Kentucky Derby Post position draw was held at 12PM EST this afternoon. Here is the field, and odds, for the 2010 Kentucky Derby:

17. Dublin, 12-1
18. Backtalk, 50-1
19. Homeboykris 50-1
20. Sidney's Candy, 5-1

The favoured Lookin At Lucky is buried on the rail while speed favouring second-choice Sidney's Candy gets the furthest most post.

Backtalk and Make Music for me backed into the Derby field when Endorsement and Interactif pulled out of the Kentucky Derby at the last minute.

Sunland Derby winner Endorsement is out of the Kentucky Derby with an ankle injury and Interactif won't be entered.

The changes allow Backtalk and Make Music for Me to become part of a full 20-horse field when the post position draw takes place later Wednesday.

Trainer Shannon Ritter said she noticed the ankle injury after Endorsement walked off the track at Churchill Downs following a half-mile workout Wednesday morning. Trainer Todd Pletcher said Interactif is better suited for turf races and will bypass the Derby over a dirt track.

With preference given to the top 20 graded stakes earners, the changes allow for Backtalk and Make Music for Me to be eligible for the field.

Night racing returns to Woodbine this evening. I would love to be in attendance but will instead be cheering on Toronto FC as they take on the Montreal Impact in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship competition. It's been a rough year for me as a footy fan as my beloved Liverpool are finishing up the track. Hopefully TFC will give me a reason to cheer this evening.

Tasty Temptation returns to the track on Friday afternoon in Woodbine's fourth race. the six and a half furlong sprint will see the Casse filly take on the tough Bear's Lightning. Also entered are Knocker, Holiday Girl, Flashy Got Even and Rashnaa. Please check out my post entitled Photo Essay: Graded Winners, Sunshine and Friendly Faces on the Woodbine Backstretch for photos of Tasty Tempation.
