Photo Essay: Chasing Stories Across Ontario

I've been having a fair bit of fun the past two weeks pursuing a variety of free-lance pieces for both breeds - that is, thoroughbred and standardbred. I'll post links when the new stories are published but I'm excited about the work.

I was quite proud of a piece published last month in TROT Magazine entitled, Reaching Out. The story profiles Charlottetown Deputy Police Chief Gary McGuigan who, armed with only a handful of standardbred broodmares, set out to help the troubled youth in the local community. Click the link above to read the full story.

Needless to say, I've been fortunate to meet some inspiring folks writing about the sport of horse racing and this month is no different. While I wait for the ink to dry on the new stories, here's a few photos from my adventures across Ontario horse country including an October 26th visit to the Woodbine backstretch, a November 12th romp through the town of Erin and an evening at Woodbine to watch the OSS Super Finals.

(As always, please double left click the photo to enlarge the photo and then use your "Back" button to return to the blog post. Enjoy!)
