I'm going to miss this place

The Saratoga backstretch is home to some of the biggest trainers in the business and the best horses in training. The backdrop is a throwback to another era as horses are put through their paces amongst the greenery and wooden barns of the historic track. Instead of staying up late, my goal is to get to bed early so I can be on the backstretch at dawn to watch the sun come up as the horses train.
Of course, the nightlife in Saratoga is wonderful as well. My past two trips have included fine dining at Hattie's Chicken Shack and a late-night (9PM is late on a trip like this) drink at the Adelphi Hotel.
Green with envy

It doesn't hurt either that most everyone on the backstretch is a smiling, welcoming face. Words can't do it justice, but maybe a few of the pictures below will help.
