January Edition of Down The Stretch Hits The Streets!

Many of the stories I diarize here at Triple Dead Heat are extras gleaned from trips to racetracks to cover the racing game for Down The Stretch newspaper.

Down The Stretch is a unique publication in that it covers both thoroughbred and standardbred racing with equal admiration. Woodbine Entertainment Group provide a first-class racing experience that finds me at the races in the heat of summer and the coldest days of winter. This month's edition of Down The Stretch colourfully illustrates the stark contrast of Chantal Sutherland scoring in the heat at Golden Gate, versus the blizzard busting Mark MacDonald's score with Please Poppy in the Glorys Comet Trotting Series.

A peaceful Woodbine under the cover of lights and snow.

I'm also happy to tell you that this issue features a glitzy centre spread on harness racing's Generation Next! My contribution this month covers the exploits of teenaged Doug McNair, Scott Zeron and Jon Drury who are tearing up the track and earning the respect of horsemen and punters alike.
If history is your game, then you'll surely enjoy the writing of the brilliant Louis Cauz, Director of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame, who has graciously allowed us to re-print his piece entitled Shedrow's Alibis. This is the first in a series of re-prints that I'm very much looking forward to reading.

There's also Eleanor Yeoman LeBlanc's wonderfully titled, War Cry Just Wants To Make Love that tells the story of Richard Moylan's latest edition to his stable of stallions. War Cry is by Unbridled and Moylan claims his new charge is going to be the best stallion in Ontario.

Obviously, I'm quite proud of the paper and I want to see it in the hands of as many readers as possible. So, if you are interested in receiving a free copy of Down The Stretch, email me with your address and I'll be sure to get a copy to your attention.

Best of luck with your Sunshine Millions picks this weekend!
